movies galore...
Managed to catch two movies over the past week or so - Casino Royale and Step Up.
Watched Casino Royale with Ad, after much persuasion on my part (ie. by making it a condition precedent to watching Happy Feet). It was an excellent movie, and I must say this new Bond definitely has a raw cutting edge, which to me is a more realistic portrayal of a secret agent in hostile territory. I am happy to report that Ad had no choice but to agree that it was an excellent movie, which means I should hopefully have an easier time convincing her to watch the next 007 movie. ;)
As for Step Up, Ad and I watched it with Irks and Gi, which I suppose is part of the ongoing conspiracy to subtly inspire Irks to agree to continue joining dance classes with Gi. It was pretty much along the same vein as Take The Lead, and I'm convinced that America now thinks that the best form of rehabilitation for juvenile delinquents is through dancing. All in all a pretty good show, with suitable eye-candy in the form of a male lead who looks suspiciously like Brad Pitt, and a female lead who looks like...er...some generic Hollywood pretty face... And the dance finale was rather impressive - sort of a fusion between ballet, contemporary and hip-hop.
Ok, enough of wearing my movie critic hat. Will let provide updates if and when we get down to watching Happy Feet. Which should be pretty soon.

apparently I can't leave line spaces between paragraphs when I put pictures side by side on top. Annoying. Urgh.
er.. how was take the lead? i haven't seen that one. Step Up was like the first movie i've sen in the theaters in 2 years or something..
pretty good...a bunch of teens serving detention receive dance training from antonio banderas, and end up taking part in a competition as refined young men and women...good stuff...
Dancing is for little fairy boys... :)
i used to find antonio banderas sooo exotic back in the days, now his accent is driving me crazy! his wife is equally annoying.... he hasn't done any good movie in a while, i wonder if it's a sign of desperation?

Should arrive on the 24th, missing your birthday by a day. Yippee! :) Alky's back too, we should hang out, unless you are busy with the Mrs...
